About Us
Oasis Community Projects is a non-profit organisation in one of the poorest rural areas in the Western Cape.
Since 1993, we worked to alleviate the hardship of under-served communities in the Kannaland Municipal sub-district.
We empower our community to reach its full potential by: promoting sustainable projects and integrating projects like kitchens, gardens and youth programs to provide alternate life skills and training for a better future.
What we do
We do it for our community
Administrative Facilities
Admin services in Ladismith and Van Wyksdorp include: photocopying, printing, scanning, internet access, etc. at a minimal cost to our community.
School Aftercare
Our After School Care nurtures Van Wyksdorp’s primary school children with engaging activities and nutritious meals, fostering their growth and well-being.
Community Outreach
Our Community Outreach Services covers all health related interventions, health promotion and prevention in the broad Kannaland area.
Government Facilities
Seamless access to government services, supporting our community without costs thanks to an MOU agreement with Government departments.
Elderly Program
Our Older Persons Program ensures the well-being of Van Wyksdorp’s elderly, offering support and three weekly meals to ensure good nutrition.
School Health
Integrated School Health is part of the Community Outreach Services under Nr.7, which entails health promotion and prevention of ill-health in scolars.
Access To Library
Our library services in Van Wyksdorp empower the community through knowledge, fostering a love for learning and a brighter future for all.
Nutritional Food
Our Targeted Feeding Site provides essential sustenance to the vulnerable, diseased, disabled, and community members.
EPWP Program
Approved: New EPWP/IDT Program offers 200 work opportunities.

This week is all about light, learning, and local spirit as we lead up to the Chinese Lunar New Year Lantern Festival! 🐉
We are so proud of the collaboration between Dusty Dog and Oasis. Together, we’ve been on a journey of experiential learning, teaching the children the beauty of cultural diversity through hands-on creation.
It’s been a true team effort:
Ceridwen has been opening the children's eyes to the rich traditions of Chinese culture.
Peter helped the kids turn "found objects" into stunning hanging lanterns.
Quinton stepped in for some fascinating lessons all about snakes! 🐍
Our Cooks & CBWs spent time at Dusty Dog mastering Chinese-inspired flavors.
Tomorrow is the big taste test! Our amazing kitchen team will be serving up a delicious chicken and veg stir-fry with egg fried rice for the 200 people Oasis feeds daily. 🥢✨

From November 25th–27th, Oasis Community Projects held a sacred space for our community. We listened to the brave testimonies of survivors, turning their pain into shared strength and insight.
In a powerful gesture of support and solidarity, the men of our community stepped up to prepare and serve meals for everyone. This simple act of service created a space of true healing, showing that we stand together against Gender-Based Violence.

On December 6th, Oasis Community Projects hosted a vital Disaster Management workshop right here in Vanwyksdorp. With 120 community members in attendance, it was incredible to see our neighbors coming together to prioritize safety and preparedness.
What did we learn? 📝 We dived deep into understanding the difference between natural and man-made disasters. Most importantly, everyone walked away knowing exactly what steps to take when an emergency strikes to keep their families safe.
